Andrew McLauchlin spent his entire career working in construction law and for the last 20 years as principal of McLauchlin & Associates, a Construction Law Practice.
As an alternative to litigation, arbitration and mediation allows parties to resolve disputes without potential lengthy court proceedings. Andy has now joined GSNH as counsel to continue his practice which includes arbitration and mediation. He has practiced trial and appellate advocacy at all levels of court and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Andy is a former instructor at the Bar Admission Course and a former lecturer at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Engineering. He is a member of the teaching faculty of the Construction Education Council and the University of Waterloo. He is also a frequent speaker at professional and industry organizations and author of numerous publications.
Andy is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Canadian Bar Association, the Advocates’ Society, and the Toronto Construction Association.
In 2017, Andy was selected by his peers to receive the OBA Award of Excellence in Construction and Infrastructure Law for his continued dedication to the profession.
As well, he is recognized as a senior statesperson by Chambers Canada, recognized in the area of Construction Law in The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory as most frequently recommended, The Lexpert/ALM Guide to the Leading 500 Lawyers in Canada, The Best Lawyers in Canada, International Who’s Who of Construction Lawyers and maintains the highest possible Martindale-Hubbell rating of AV Preeminent. He is also certified by the Law Society of Ontario as a Certified Specialist in Construction Law. Andy is an Inaugural Fellow and Governor and Past President of the Canadian College of Construction Lawyers.
